About the Role
The Senior EU Project Officer will oversee the design, coordination, and implementation of EU-funded initiatives within SYNTHESIS’ social innovation and sustainability portfolio. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on project management.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the implementation of EU-funded projects and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
Coordinate partner communication, deliverables, and reporting.
Supervise junior project officers and support staff.
Contribute to proposal writing and strategic development.
Manage EU funded projects (such as Erasmus+, Amif, Horizon).
Develop project proposals
Lead a team of junior project officers
Assist and guide junior project officers; be available to review their work; inspire, coach, and mentor them
Travel abroad to attend meetings and conferences
Network and promote the work of the Center in Cyprus and abroad
Work closely with the management in reaching the Center’s objectives
Requirements
Degree in Social Sciences, EU Studies, Sustainability, or related field.
Minimum 3–5 years experience in EU project management.
Strong knowledge of EU funding programs (Horizon, Erasmus+, CERV, etc.).
Excellent communication and coordination skills.
Fluent in English (Greek a plus).
Proven track record in the management of EU-funded projects, including budgeting
Strong research and writing skills
Able to coach and empower team
Exceptional interpersonal abilities
Strong organizational and management abilities
Enthusiastic character with excellent teamwork abilities
Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines
Hard working, goal oriented, and adaptable
Able to travel at short notice
Ambitious and passionate
Master's degree in any field (preferably in Environmental studies, IT, Humanities or Business-related fields)
